Our Issues

The Los Padres Chapter encompasses everything from National Forest Wilderness areas of the San Ynez Mountains to the Channel Islands National Park in the Santa Barbara Channel.  Our issues range from traditional Sierra Club concerns with forest management and wilderness to the urban and growing problems with land use and energy development.  Following are the major issues we are struggling with:

LNG installations on the Ventura Coast

This image should be removed.Several LNG installations are proposed in the Santa Barbara Channel.   A detailed description is being prepared and will be online shortly.

  • Gaviota Coast Feasability Study
    National Park Service 2004-03-9

    The Gaviota Coast Feasibility Study transmitted to Congress on March 9, 2004. This study will determine whether the area, or any portion of it, is eligible and suitable to be managed as a unit of the National Park System.
