THE OLD CABIN SITE, PT. MUGU STATE PARK: Moderate, 7 mrt, 1,200’ elevation. Wear hiking shoes, hat, bring water, lunch, snacks. We will have lunch at the Old Cabin Site. MISSION RIDGE: Hike from Tunnel Trail up to near the Rattlesnake Connector and then up a primitive trail to the top of a ridge. Return via Edison Road trail. DOUGH FLAT TO BUCKSNORT TRAIL: Moderate 7 mile round trip hike on old jeep road at medium pace. Scenic views of Sespe Condor Sanctuary cliffs and Agua Blanca Creek Canyon. Meet 9am in Fillmore. DIVIDE PEAK: Joint hike with the Sespe group. We’ll meet at Murietta Divide and make the ascent to Divide Peak together. Strenuous 12 mrt hike from Matilija trailhead to Divide Peak with great views of Ojai and Lake Casitas. On a clear day, all 8 Channel Islands are visible. Wear lug-soled shoes, bring water, food. For those in Ventura meet 7:45am at Ventura carpool lot (Seaward and Harbor between Washington Mutual and Carrows). WILDERNESS RESTORATION IN DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK: Come help protect Death Valley National Park from abuse by illegal off-road traffic. This wilderness restoration project along the park's scenic eastern boundary in the Amargosa Valley involves the installation of signs, raking out of vehicle tracks and moving rocks. Meet late Friday afternoon, or early Saturday morning, work Saturday and part of the day on Sunday. Camping Friday and Saturday night will be in a Park Service camping area (no water, portable toilets). Leader: KATE ALLEN, 661-944-4056. (CNRCC Desert Committee)

DOUGH FLAT TO ALDER CREEK CANYON OVERLOOK: Moderate 8.8 mile round trip hike at medium pace, partly on old jeep road. Lunch with views toward Alder Creek Canyon and points north. CANINE HIKE ROMERO CANYON: Moderate hike up hill along Romero Creek, mostly shaded trail, then back down the fire road. Total 6 miles, 1500 ft elevation gain. Well behaved dogs welcomed and encouraged; must be leashed. Bring snack and water for you and your canine companion. Hikers without dogs welcome too. RINCON – CARPINTERIA HIKE: We’ll hike from Rincon Park to the viewpoint overlooking the Sea Lion rookery just outside Carpinteria. We’ll follow the coastal cliff trails with a short detour to the Rincon hang glider area. Easy 4 mrt. Bring a light lunch and water.
