Participant Approval Forms

While the Sierra Club and its leaders exercise every effort to conduct safe outings, sometimes accidents do happen. Therefore, it is the Club’s policy to require participants to waive any claim arising from negligence and to execute the Club’s written express release of liability and express assumption of risk form. While the Sierra Club values the participation of minors with their parents or legal guardians on outings, our policies also require that the minor’s parent or guardian execute the assumption of risk and release of liability document on behalf of their minor child or children as a condition of participating in any outing.  "All participants on Sierra Club outings are required to sign a standard liability waiver. If you would like to read the liability waiver before you choose to participate on an outing, refer to it here: Outings Waiver (pdf) or contact the Outings department at (415) 977-5630 for a printed version."
