Welcome to the Sespe Group's hike and photo pages. The Sespe group has many hikes for both novice and experienced hiker. Many hikes are scheduled almost every weekend. A great hike for novice is the Wednesday Evening Urban Hike. The hike starts and ends at the Ventura Mission, located on lower Main Street. Hikers meet at the water fountain directly across the street from the mission between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m. The hike promptly starts at 7:00 p.m. and winds through the coastal foothills that boarder the town from the interior wilderness, then makes it way to the end of the pier, around the the county fairgrounds, up the Ventura River and back to the mission. One does not have wear any special "hiking" shoes, but it is suggested to wear comfortable walking shoes.

The hike has many stopping and regrouping points. At the last stopping and regrouping point the hike leader will announce the schedule hikes for the coming weekend. This is a great way to become acquainted to our friendly group and learn more about our hikes.
